# GitHub Integration Settings

You can customize the default behavior of your AI coder in **GitHub → Settings** (`/{botname}/github/settings`).

## Available Settings

### 1. Default Execution Mode

Choose the starting mode for all new sessions:

* **Interactive Plan** (*Recommended*): AI chats with you to clarify goals before planning and execution.
* **Review**: AI drafts a plan and waits for approval before writing code.
* **Direct**: AI starts coding immediately.

### 2. Default Commit Mode

* **Ask Before Committing** (*Recommended*): AI presents visual code diffs and asks for your confirmation before committing.
* **Direct Commit**: Automatically stages and commits verified changes upon task completion.

### 3. Default Branch Strategy

* **Feature Branch** (`pr_selected`): Creates a dedicated branch named `ai/{task-name}` to keep your primary branch clean.
* **Push to Current Branch** (`push_branch`): Pushes directly to the repository's selected default branch.
* **Pull Request** (`pr_new`): Creates a branch, pushes commits, and opens a GitHub Pull Request.

### 4. AI Engine Defaults

* Select your character's default **Primary Coding Engine**, **Fallback Engine**, and **Chat Engine**.

## Linked Repositories

Manage which repositories this character has permission to work on. You can link multiple repositories, change default target branches, or unlink repositories at any time.
