# Settings

> Manage your AurInfer account — update your profile, change your username, manage email addresses, connected accounts, password, active sessions, and delete your account.

# Account Settings

This page manages your **personal AurInfer account** — your profile picture, display name, username, email addresses, connected accounts (like Patreon, Google, Discord), password, active sessions, and account deletion.

**How to get here:**

> In the left sidebar, click **Account** → then click **Settings**

The full path is: **Account → Settings**

This page is split into **two tabs** at the top:

1. **Profile** — your identity and connected accounts
2. **Security** — password and session management

## Profile Tab

**Full path: Account → Settings → Profile tab**

This is the first tab you see when you open Account Settings.

### Profile

At the top of the Profile tab:

| Field      | What it does                                                                              |
| ---------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Avatar** | Your profile picture shown on your account and dashboard. Click it to upload a new image. |
| **Name**   | Your display name — shown across the platform to other users.                             |

After changing the name or avatar, click **Update profile** to save the changes.

### Username

Your username is your unique identifier on AurInfer. It's different from your display name — it's the permanent ID used internally and may appear in your account URL.

Click **Update username** to change it.

  Changing your username may break any links or references that use your current username. After changing it, update any shared links you've sent to others.

### Email Addresses

You can have **more than one email address** linked to your account:

| Field                  | What it does                                                                     |
| ---------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Primary Email**      | The main email for your account — used for login and notifications.              |
| **Secondary Email(s)** | Additional emails you've added. Can be used for alternative login or as backups. |

Click **Add email address** to attach a new email. You can remove secondary emails at any time by clicking the options next to them.

### Connected Accounts

This section shows all **external services connected to your AurInfer account**. These are used for signing in and for platform integrations.

| Service     | What it's used for                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       |
| ----------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Patreon** | **Required for purchasing plans.** This links your Patreon membership to your AurInfer account. You must connect Patreon before you can subscribe to a paid plan. To connect: stay on this page, find the Patreon entry under Connected Accounts, and click **Connect**. |
| **Google**  | Allows you to sign in to AurInfer using your Google account.                                                                                                                                                                                                             |
| **Discord** | Connects your Discord account for Discord-related features and identity verification.                                                                                                                                                                                    |

Each connected account has an **options menu** (usually a three-dot icon or similar) where you can manage or disconnect the connection.

  **To purchase a plan, you must connect Patreon first.** This is done right here: **Account → Settings → Profile tab → Connected Accounts → Patreon → Connect**. Once connected, go to **Account → Billing** to choose and subscribe to a plan.

## Security Tab

**Full path: Account → Settings → Security tab**

Click the **Security** tab at the top of the Settings page to switch to this view.

### Password

Update your account password here. Type your new password in the field and click **Update password** to apply.

  Use a strong, unique password for your AurInfer account. Your account controls AI characters that may have Discord bot permissions active 24/7 — keeping it secure protects your bots and communities.

### Active Devices

This section lists **every device and browser session that is currently signed in to your account**.

Each session shows:

| Field             | What it shows                                                             |
| ----------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Device Type**   | The operating system of the signed-in session — e.g., Windows, Linux, iOS |
| **Browser**       | The browser being used — e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Safari                    |
| **Location**      | The approximate geographic location of the session — e.g., Mumbai, India  |
| **Session Label** | Whether this entry is your current active session                         |

To **sign out a device remotely**, click the sign-out button next to that session. This immediately logs out that device — useful if you accidentally left yourself logged in somewhere, or if you see a session you don't recognize.

  If you see a session that you don't recognize — different device, unexpected location — sign it out immediately and then change your password.

### Danger Zone

At the very bottom of the Security tab:

| Action             | What it does                                                                           |
| ------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Delete account** | Permanently and immediately deletes your entire AurInfer account and everything in it. |

<Warning>
  **Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone.** Everything will be gone forever: all your characters, integrations (Discord bots, Bluesky accounts, X accounts), memory data, training data, billing connections, and all settings. There is no recovery.

## Security Footer

At the bottom of the Settings page, a note confirms that account authentication and session management is handled by **Clerk** — a secure, industry-standard identity platform. Your login credentials are managed through Clerk's infrastructure.
